Food and hospitality branding, website, film and visual language for Covent Garden taiyaki restaurant.
Yaki Yaki was an original, genuinely exciting quick-service food offering located in London’s Covent Garden, before it sadly fell victim to the fallout from the covid pandemic. Offering a range of taiyaki – a traditional fish-shaped Asian waffle treat – this fun brand quickly became popular with locals, businesses, tourists, theatregoers and food influencers looking to experience the next big food concept.
We created the name, tone of voice, brand identity, signage, digital menus, uniforms, packaging, promotions, social media assets, films, animations and website. Additionally, we also organised a number of launch events widely attended by food influencers and bloggers.
We delivered:
Brand identity, Naming, Tone of voice, Design systems, Motion graphics, Printed comms, Digital comms, Event collateral, Website design, Film, Photography, Animation, Illustration
We say:
We were very sad to see this business fail to recover after the pandemic. There was so much potential and we loved developing the personality of the brand’s taiyaki fish characters through seasonal illustrations and quirky animations.
If you look closely at the logo, you may notice that one of the fish has had part of his tail bitten off (because he is so delicious) and also that the lips of the two fishes form two Y’s, to reference the brand name.
